Williams is one of the world's leading Formula One™ teams, dedicated to competing at the pinnacle of motorsport, where it has been securing Grand Prix victories for over three decades. The Williams name has been a cornerstone of top-level motorsport since the 1960s. After managing teams in lower racing categories, team founder Sir Frank Williams established Frank Williams (Racing Cars) in 1966 and entered Formula 1® in 1969 with his friend Piers Courage at the wheel. One of the most iconic brands in the world, MARTINI®, joined the Williams F1® team as a title sponsor, enhancing its legacy.
For the 2025 F1 season, Williams has confirmed a formidable driver lineup featuring Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, who joins the team after a stellar 2024 season with Ferrari, highlighted by wins in Australia and Mexico. This new pairing aims to propel Williams further up the grid, building on their fifth-place standing in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship with 70 points after 11 rounds. The team unveiled their 2025 car, the FW47, on February 14 at Silverstone, showcasing a one-off camo livery, with the official 2025 livery set to debut at the F1 75 Live event at The O2 Arena in London on February 18. A significant technical upgrade for the FW47 includes a switch to a pushrod rear suspension system, aligning with Mercedes and Aston Martin, facilitated by their partnership with power unit and gearbox supplier Mercedes. Additionally, Williams secured a multi-year title sponsorship with Atlassian, rebranding as Atlassian Williams Racing, and a partnership with Santander, signaling their ambitious plans. Despite halting in-season development to focus on 2026 regulations, a pre-planned upgrade is in the pipeline to maintain competitiveness in the midfield battle. Team principal James Vowles emphasizes a long-term vision to return Williams to the front of the grid, with new facilities at their Grove headquarters enhancing performance capabilities.
